Stage 01 · Pre-soak
Who this covers and what the app does
This policy applies to the Gedbex Wash mobile app published by Charlotte Porter ("we", "us"). Gedbex Wash lets you browse car wash locations, compare wash plans, buy a pass, show that pass at the counter when you check in, and keep a tally of how many washes you have used.
The short version: Gedbex Wash does not run user accounts, does not send your data to our servers, and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

What the app stores on your phone
To work, the app keeps the following in its own local storage on your device:
- Your pass. The plan you chose (for example single wash, monthly, or unlimited), its start and expiry dates, and the pass code shown at check-in.
- Usage tally. A counter of washes used and the date of each check-in you log, so you can track how much of the plan is left.
- Preferences. Your preferred wash location, display settings, and reminder choices.
- Purchase receipt reference. A receipt identifier from the app store so the app can restore your pass if you reinstall it.
None of this is uploaded to us. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it, except where your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google backup) has included it.

What we do not collect
- We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, phone number, or password inside the app.
- We do not track your location in the background. The location browser uses a list of wash sites bundled with the app; if you tap "near me", your phone's location is used once, on the device, and is not sent to us.
- We do not use analytics SDKs, crash reporters that send identifiers, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers.
- We do not read your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or vehicle registration.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone.
The pass shown at the counter is a code on your screen. Scanning or reading it at a wash site is handled by that site's own process; the app does not report your visit anywhere.
Stage 04 · Purchases
Buying a pass
Passes are bought through in-app purchase on the Apple App Store or Google Play. Your payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never see your card number, billing address, or full payment details.
The app store gives the app a receipt reference so it can confirm the purchase and restore it on a new device. That reference is stored locally and is not linked to any profile we hold, because we hold none.

Your controls, retention, and children
- See your data. Everything the app holds is visible in the Pass and Usage screens.
- Reset. "Clear usage history" in Settings wipes the tally. Deleting the app removes all local data.
- Backups. Turn off app backups in your phone settings if you do not want the pass included in your device backup.
- Retention. Data is kept only as long as it is on your device. We have no copy to retain or delete.
- Children. The app is intended for drivers and car owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.
- Support email. If you email us, we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to help you and then delete it.

Changes and contact
If the app ever changes how it handles data, this page will be updated and the effective date on the pass above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
